Skip Bin Hire – Terms & Conditions – 888 Waste (Australia)
These Terms & Conditions apply to the hire of skip bins and related waste services provided by 888 Waste (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the customer (“you”, “your”).
By booking, accepting delivery of, or using a skip bin supplied by 888 Waste, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Hire Period
1.1 The standard hire period is up to 14 days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.2 Extended hire periods may be arranged and may incur additional charges.
1.3 888 Waste reserves the right to collect the skip bin at the end of the agreed hire period.
2. Delivery & Collection
2.1 You must provide clear, safe, and legal access for delivery and collection.
2.2 If delivery or collection cannot be completed due to access issues, incorrect information, or obstructions, a failed service or wasted journey fee may apply.
2.3 Skip bins must not be relocated once delivered without prior approval from 888 Waste.
3. Placement & Council Permits
3.1 Skip bins must be placed on private property unless a valid local council permit is obtained.
3.2 Where placement on public land (road, footpath, verge) is required:
- It is your responsibility to obtain council approval unless otherwise agreed
- All permit conditions must be complied with
3.3 888 Waste accepts no liability for fines, penalties, or enforcement actions resulting from failure to obtain or comply with council permits.
4. Acceptable & Prohibited Waste
4.1 Only waste types agreed at the time of booking may be placed in the skip.
4.2 Prohibited items include (but are not limited to):
- Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials
- Hazardous or regulated waste
- Batteries
- Gas cylinders
- Tyres
- Paints, oils, solvents, chemicals
- Medical or clinical waste
- Liquid waste
- Explosives or flammable materials
- E-waste (unless agreed in advance)
4.3 If prohibited or undeclared waste is found, 888 Waste may:
- Refuse collection
- Remove and dispose of the waste at your cost
- Charge additional handling and disposal fees
- Report the matter to relevant authorities where legally required
5. Loading & Use of Skip Bin
5.1 Skip bins must not be overfilled. Waste must not extend above the rim of the bin.
5.2 Materials must not protrude or create a safety risk.
5.3 You are responsible for safe and lawful loading of the skip.
5.4 888 Waste may refuse to collect an overloaded or unsafe skip until rectified.
6. Weight Limits
6.1 Each skip bin has a maximum weight limit.
6.2 Overweight skips may incur additional charges.
6.3 888 Waste may require excess material to be removed or arrange alternative disposal at your cost.
7. Damage, Loss & Responsibility
7.1 You are responsible for the skip bin from the time of delivery until collection.
7.2 You are liable for:
- Loss or theft of the skip bin
- Damage beyond fair wear and tear
7.3 You must ensure the skip bin does not damage:
- Driveways or paving
- Footpaths or road surfaces
- Underground services
7.4 888 Waste is not responsible for surface damage unless caused by our negligence.
8. Health, Safety & Public Risk
8.1 You must comply with all applicable Work Health & Safety (WHS) laws and local regulations.
8.2 Skip bins must not obstruct traffic, access points, or create hazards.
8.3 Safety markings, reflectors, cones, or lights supplied must not be removed or tampered with.
9. Environmental Compliance
9.1 888 Waste will collect, transport, and process waste in accordance with applicable Australian environmental legislation.
9.2 You warrant that all waste placed in the skip is lawfully owned and legally permitted to be disposed of.
10. Charges & Payment
10.1 Charges are based on:
- Skip size
- Waste type
- Hire duration
- Location
10.2 Additional charges may apply for:
- Extended hire
- Overweight bins
- Prohibited or undeclared waste
- Failed delivery or collection
10.3 Payment terms are as agreed at the time of booking. Late payments may attract additional fees.
11. Cancellations & Changes
11.1 Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours prior to scheduled delivery.
11.2 Late cancellations may incur a fee.
12. Force Majeure
12.1 888 Waste is not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including extreme weather, road closures, industrial action, or mechanical failure.
13. Limitation of Liability
13.1 To the extent permitted by law, 888 Waste’s liability is limited to the value of the hire charge paid.
13.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
14. Governing Law
14.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State or Territory in which the service is provided, and the laws of Australia.
15. Acceptance
By booking or using a skip bin supplied by 888 Waste, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
